Our journey began with analyzing the target audience and defining the learning objective: crafting a compelling, well-rounded protagonist within a single course.
Our course breaks down character development—motivation, and back story—into a course that guides students through developing their own character for the upcoming video game programming class.
During development, the students will use instructional materials, such as character profile worksheets.
The course is then implemented through a single class where learners actively practice drafting and receiving formative feedback on their character’s internal conflict.
Finally, students evaluated the course's success through a Level 1 evaluation using The Kirkpatrick Model where they provided feedback on how engaging they considered the class to be.
